2020 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

We are on the search for a small group of dancers interested in an internship program geared specifically towards event production.  Interns will work in exchange for full access to Toronto International Tap Dance Festival (TITDF) public events. (shows, workshops, panel discussions) 

 

**Please note: successful applicants may also be accepted in the New Generation Residency Program,  

however tuition will not be included in the internship work exchange.**

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

PLEASE NOTE: We may release an additional call for submissions for interns in the spring.

Successful applicants may be asked to assist with:

 

  • social media

  • video editing

  • driving (transporting visiting artists, running errands, etc)

  • general administrative duties (email correspondence, building subscriber list and audience base, seeking event support and potential sponsorship opportunities, problem solving)

  • event merchandise sales

  • onsite event registration

  • assisting guest artists 

  • assisting production team

  • other miscellaneous tasks both onsite and in preparation for summer programming

1. A cover letter addressed to TITDF co-producers Allison Toffan & Juliana Kelly expressing your interest in this opportunity, and be sure to include your applicable skills in accordance to criteria points listed.

 

2. Your dance biography (max 200 words)

 

3. Your general work experience resume

 

4. Two reference letters  (one from a dance professional, one academic or non-dance related)

**Acceptable file formats: PDF & Word documents only.**

 

GENERAL POINTS:

  • submissions must come from applicant, not a parent or family member on behalf of the applicant

  • reference letters from family/relatives will not be accepted

  • applicant minimum age is 18/have birthdates in 2002 (turning 18 in 2020 is acceptable)

  • applicants are not required to have a driver's license, but it's an asset to your application

  • must be adaptable, coachable, co-operative and possess a great work ethic

 

The internship program begins February 7 with flexible/part time hours, and will intensify in May. Please note: we can be flexible with existing work schedules and commitments with appropriate notice. All interns must be available full time from August 17-23, 2020.
