Due to registration maximums per location, many sessions will be split into groups. This is based on age, experience, skill level and maturity, and is subject to change at the discretion of the TRI Faculty, to best place dancers in a learning and performance environment that suits each student's respective aptitude. Due to varied experience, all participants will be challenged on a individual basis with regards to the material and class subject matter, and groupings may get changed up, so no need to worry about level variety. We'll find the right challenges and balance for every dancer to ensure a well rounded and fulfilling experience. All dancers will come together for tap chats, footage & history, professional development, and our live music session.
The original choreography sessions will be set by TRI co-producers Allison and Juliana in Winnipeg and Ottawa, and in Vaughan Cori Giannotta will join the choreography team as well as our visiting guest artist Sarah Savelli, who will work with the pre-professional group in Toronto. These pieces of repertoire will be featured in TRI's shows on July 21 (Winnipeg), July 27 (Ottawa), and August 4 (Toronto). All participants will be invited to perform alongside TRI professionals, and special guests with live music on the weekend following each respective intensive week.
Closing up each week, dancers experience a professional development session in the morning, including an audition for a scholarship for our 2020 programming, as well as scholarships for MOVE convention in the fall. The audition will be assessed by a panel of TRI faculty, where students will gain feedback and enjoy a new learning opportunity - another great experience dipping into the professional arena.
On Friday, as always, we'll close up the week with our live music session. We're inviting friends and family to join us from 5-6pm in Winnipeg and Ottawa, and 5:30-6pm in Vaughan, showcasing some of the work covered over the week, and celebrating the triumph of new challenges, and announcing scholarship recipients.
