Over the years, we have received many questions about summer training options and tap specific programs like our intensive for advanced and keen younger dancers. In response, we've created a specialized program for dancers interested in our intensive, but don't yet meet the age or experience requirements. We've designed this program specifically as a stepping stone, offering 30 hours of tap training over 5 days with a focus on technique, history, music theory, improvisation, choreography and working with live music.

TRI JUNIOR PREP PROGRAM
Ages 9-13
Minimum of 2 years tap experience
This program will be operating at an intermediate level, and the group will be split into two groups.
There will be a maximum of 50 participants.
(25 per group)
Please note: there will be no exceptions for minimum age requirements.
(minimum age 9 or turning 9 this year; dancers born in 2013)

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL JUNIOR PREP PROGAM ATTENDEES!
Taught by TRI co-producers Allison Toffan & Juliana Kelly, our choreography sessions will be utilized to teach participants original choreography to be performed in our TRI show on August 21 as part of the Toronto International Tap Dance Festival at Harbourfront Centre! They'll perform alongside faculty, live music, and other TRI youth program participants.

HERE'S A LOOK AT OUR SCHEDULE:
On Friday, dancers will partake in a professional development session including a mock audition and a Q&A to debrief their experience and gain insight. In the afternoon, they'll work with a trio of Toronto's leading jazz musicians for a live music session!
To close up the week, friends and family are invited to join us from 3:30-4pm where we'll showcase some of the work covered over the week, celebrate the triumph of new challenges, as well as special announcements!

Our registration app will launch live on this webpage at 12:01am on May 1.
Registration will be capped at 25 participants per group. 50 total.
